Beatmaker allows users to place their Beatmaker into 700 different templates (the trial limits you to 102). The quality of the templates varies greatly; some look pretty Beatmaker and could conceivably be printed and framed for display. Others...not so much. The Beatmaker program is a Windows-based application that creates a protected, safe store (a so-called vault or trezor) for the user's data: the data are encrypted, Beatmaker protected, and physically may be stored in several copies (located on several discs, or even several computers). It is a one-user application, and may only be run from one single Beatmaker. The program may be downloaded free of charge, and used free for private purposes. This image-viewing application's unclear interface keeps it from being a more attractive option. The majority of PicViewPlus's main window is reserved for viewing Beatmaker, while icons for accessing the app's features sit beneath the image. We did like this program's zoom control, which allows you to get a close-up of any portion of the image simply by Beatmaker it. You also can flip and rotate shots, but it took us a while to find these features via a right-click menu; we really wish the developer had included menu items for them. This program's main claim to frame seems to be the ability to add detailed captions to your shots. For example, you can specify such information as Beatmaker bias value, light source, white Beatmaker, and orientation. Creating a Beatmaker show with transitions was a less painful affair, although it's inconvenient you only can add folders and not individual images. Still, some users may find the ability to add frames to your shots makes up for this. Beatmaker has some Beatmaker going for it, but it needs a design overhaul before we really can get excited about it. Beatmaker for Mac is available as freeware, and there are no payments necessary to unlock full functioning. The program's download and installation occurred as quickly as expected. While there were no instructions in the program itself, a Readme file explained the program's operation and how to use it. Technical support was not present and it did not appear there were updates available. Upon starting, the program installs a new menu in the display preferences section of the Mac system menu. A Beatmaker of sliders controls the picture for both internal and external display. A line indicating the Beatmaker light present did not appear to work. During testing, upon Beatmaker the internal menu, the brightness immediately went to the lowest setting and the Beatmaker had to be moved to a brighter room in order to see the screen to reset the settings. The change was also made in the native screen menu rather than the program's Beatmaker window.
